A Three-Cornered Crosheted Bag- Pattern Of 1913

A Three-Cornered Crosheted Bag- Pattern Of 1913Designed by Helen Marvin

The latter bag was a decided novelty in 1913. Today this is the American Classics- The real Grand Americana patttern. It is developed in filet crochet and the roses and leaves of the pattern are brought into relief by working over the crochet with cross stitch in colors. The bag is seven inches high and not quite eight inches wide, and for it three balls of white crochet cotton No 5 are needed, a bone teething ring two inches in diameter and  rope embroidery cotton in three shades of pink and two shades of green. The bag is made of a long strip of crochet, begun across the lower edge of the flap and the back of the bag is like the front.
